News of the Fête

Everyone ready for this year's Fête? Alledgedly it will be Longhope's 83rd Fête, but the jury is still out on that one Mr. Caspersen, as we have evidence to go back even further than 1925! See the History section for details.

The Fête this year will be on Saturday, 5th July, and apart from the usual stalls and games we will be enjoying the company of The Gloster Gladiators Band, who so kindly rescued our Fête last year when we realised that we didn't have a band at the front of the procession. Everyone's favourite, The Music Man, a Birds of Prey Display, and dancing from Hope Brook School Entertainers. We will have Longhope's Master Chef in attendance who will be cooking a 3-course meal before your eyes. The recipes will be taken from the Longhope Cook Book. There will be a raffle, childrens races and Tug-o-war and much, much more.

At Cafe Bonnies, held on the 7th June, the nominations for the Fête Princess, the Little Princess and the Page Boy were made. Georgia Smith is to be our Fête Princess, Becky Hines-Vincent will be the Little Princess and Isaac Eaton will be our Page Boy. They will need to be on their best behaviour as Mrs. Stephanie Severn, their Headteacher, will be our Dignitary and will be opening the Fête.

The fun kicks off at 1.30pm when the floats depart from Richard Read's forecourt. At 1.45pm the Carnival Procession departs from The Latchen to The Rec. See you there!
