Longhope Farm Death

Gloucestershire police are investigating the death of a man on a farm close to Hobbs Lane, in Longhope. The accident happened on Friday afternoon when a man was said to have been critically injured after being in collision with a lorry. Emergency services were called and the man was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious chest and pelvis injuries. Village residents noticed a police helicopter buzzing over Hobbs Hill for some time during the afternoon. The 88 year-old man died of his injuries yesterday evening, with his family at his hospital bedside. He has been named this morning as Lesley Beard.
