All Saints church is finally getting its new roof after much fundraising. Extensive scaffolding has been erected, and the old roof tiles have been removed. There has been a hold up in proceedings however, as some of the bats that are known to roost in the roof are still active, and they are a protected species. There are known to be four species of bat, including pipistrelle and long-eared bats, but due to the warm sunny days, they are still waking and venturing out!
Most of the money has been raised to fund the renovation work now, but it is still an unknown quantity, and more money may be required, depending on the results of surveying and structural reports.
