Advance Warning of Fête Day 2011

UPDATE: The weather is promised to be warm and sunny, so once again the saying "It never rains on Longhope Fête" holds true!

It’s that time of year again – the highlight of village life – the Longhope Fête! It is only matter of a couple of weeks away now, so be sure to obtain your programme (available from the usual village outlets).

It’s reputed to be the 92nd one (but we are still researching that one!) and will take place on Saturday, 2nd July from 2pm until 5pm. The procession will leave from The Latchen this year, due to the building work taking place at The Manor. Any of you wishing to take part, please assemble at 1.30pm ready for the start at 1.45pm, to arrive in time for the 2.00pm opening at The Rec.

The main centre field attractions will include: The cheer leaders and choir from Hope Brook School, a circus display, dance demonstrations, Gloster Gladiators Band display, and the Tug of War. Other attractions will include: circus workshops, tea and cakes in the Pavilion, the very popular beer tent, BBQ provided for us by Di from The Nags Head, Funfair courtesy of Bill Guy, and Tug of War. Various stalls will include plants, cakes, and face painting.

There will be so much more to see and do. Bring the whole family and have a fun filled afternoon, on what will turn out to be a glorious day, weather wise.
