Some weeks ago I found a wheelchair outside my back gate. There were no barcodes or labels on it. I have contacted the police, the GP surgery, the local hospital, the district nurses, the warden of the local sheltered accommodation, the local pharmacy which hires out wheelchairs - no-one has reported a wheelchair lost, missing or stolen and no-one has got back to me about it. It folds/unfolds easily, there are no tears in the fabric and the brakes work. However, the footplates are missing so there would be a cost involved in the replacement of them but that would be cheaper than buying a new wheelchair, especially if it is only for occasional use such as taking an elderly relative out for the day. If you know of anyone who could make use of it, do get in touch with me as soon as possible as my husband is threatening to take it to the tip!
